Danes@UW
For Danish students studying at UW Seattle
All students coming from Danish Universities* on exchange to study at the University of Washington in Seattle are invited to participate in the UW Seattle Danes@UW program. As part of the program, you’ll have the chance to meet other Danish and American students while taking part in a range of activities designed to help you get to know Seattle and the Puget Sound Region. Some of the events we’ve coordinated in previous semesters include:
- Hosting a Thanksgiving potluck dinner
- Attending UW football games
- Attending Mariners professional baseball games
- Attending the ballet
- Sailing trips
- Crabbing and foraging trips
- Exploring wine country
- Visiting the regional Tulip Festival
- Skiing in the Cascade Mountains
- Weekend trips to the San Juan Islands and Olympic Peninsula
When you return to Denmark you will be invited to participate in “alumni” programming with other Danes who have studied at UW Seattle and participated in the Danes@UW program.
*You do not have to be Danish to participate. Our only requirement is that you are here on an exchange program and that you are visiting from a Danish Institution.
How can I connect to the Danes@UW program in Seattle?
Each summer in July, the Scan Design Foundation Fellowship program reaches out to all students from Danish Universities who have been accepted to UW Seattle for the coming academic year. If for some reason you do not hear from us, please feel free to reach out to the program via email at scandes@uw.edu.
